  19.   I think the general tape driver is better, but there were some
  20. drive-specific handling done in the old driver that probably isn't in
  21. the new driver.  I had some trouble with an Exabyte 8mm drive because
  22. of some setup that the old driver did which isn't in the new driver.  I
  23. modified the new driver to add the 8mm as another 'rouge' and was able
  24. to get the drive working.  I had also added some special handling to
  25. the old driver for a DEC TZ50 tape drive.  I haven't had much luck getting
  26. that to work with the new driver.  [Part of the problem is that the new
  27. driver executes a SCSI command that the old driver didn't, and that command
  28. isn't supported by the DEC drive.]

  30.   I think the new driver works fine with my Wangtek 5150ES drive, although
  31. I haven't tried it lately.  The stupid A4000 box doesn't have a deep enough
  32. 5-1/4" bay, so I couldn't put the drive in the A4000.
